19 марта 2016 года в Сочи, в рамках программы форума «Россия и Спорт» были объявлены имена обладателей премии «Спорт и Россия 2016» – ежегодной награды за наилучшие результаты в сфере продвижения и поддержки спорта в нашей стране. Сбор заявок от организаций проводился до 20 февраля, после чего экспертный совет определил лучшие проекты.
В числе 35 компаний лауреатов оказался ФГУП «ТТЦ «Останкино». Спортивный клуб Телевизионного технического центра победил в номинации «Лучший шахматный проект». Руководитель шахматного движения Останкино, международный гроссмейстер Эльмира Мирзоева получила награду из рук ведущего церемонии и Первого канала Виктора Гусева.
— Спортивный клуб Останкино получил награду впервые и очень благодарны организаторам конкурса. Мы начинали в маленькой комнате корпуса АСК-3 с создания шахматного клуба. И теперь шахматы являются важнейшим направлением спортивного клуба Останкино, но есть команды и по другим видам спорта – футболу, настольному теннису, волейболу. Мы работаем для сотрудников телевизионного технического центра и будем двигаться вперед, – рассказала нашему сайту Эльмира Мирзоева.
